Darauf folgend werden verschiedene Indikatoren aufgezeigt, die zum Trend der gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung führen. In Kapitel 3 werden theoretische Grundlagen der CSR ergründet. Der Praxisteil beschäftigt sich mit dem gesellschaftlichen Engagement von Coca-Cola Deutschland (Kapitel 4). Die Auseinandersetzung der gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung von Unternehmen wurde in den letzten Jahren verstärkt in die Öffentlichkeit getragen. Medien, Wissenschaft, Politik sowie Führungsetagen diskutieren, in welchem Umfang Unternehmen für ihr Handeln verantwortlich sind bzw. gemacht werden können. Vor dem Hintergrund sich verändernder Umwelt-, Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftsbedingungen hat sich eine Begriffsvielfalt zu diesem Thema entwickelt. Begriffe wie Nachhaltigkeit, Corporate Sustainability oder Corporate Citizenship haben an Popularität gewonnen. Dennoch hat sich ein Begriff als Synonym für unternehmerische Verantwortung etabliert: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Unternehmen sind Bestandteil unserer heutigen Gesellschaft.
