The story is about a butterfly who loses her spots. On her journey to find them she meets various characters who aid and abet her search. They question her, encourage her, scold her, persuade her, comfort her and finally dance with her.
The conflict is between the butterfly and all the characters who give her advice and even bully her. As she travels to unknown places and meets new characters who want to get involved in her predicament, she has to contend with each character's point of view as they goad her. She finally meets some fun, compatible characters and they resolve her problem together.
